ATLANTA - TNT sports analyst Charles Barkley called NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's recent comments "turrible, turrible, turrible".
Goodell responded to a request from ten United States Senators asking the owner of the Washington Redskins to change their team nickname by saying that the name is not really that bad at all.
The senators stated that the name Redskins is extremely derogatory, offensive, and is tantamount to the "N" word.
Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has made it clear that he will never, ever change the team name.
He explained that Kirstie Alley could jump up and down on his face and he will still refuse to change the name which he says is a wonderful tribute to Native-Americans.
Goodell totally agreed with Snyder and said that the name is not that bad and that besides it would cost tens of thousands of dollars to change the uniforms, helmets, and everything else that has the Redskin name and/or logo on it.
Barkley pointed out that Roger Goodell is one mean-spirited, clueless dude and remarked that if his last name was Sitting Bull he would be singing a different tune.
