SAN FRANCISCO, CA--49ers backup quarterback Colt McCoy was disappointed to discover an article on Bleacher Report entitled "Look for Colt McCoy to have a monster season" contained the sub-headline "And 10 other predictions nobody will ever make about the 2013 N.F.L. season", the 26-year-old revealed to reporters Friday.
"I was casually Googling myself like I do most afternoons, and my immediate reaction was like, 'No way, somebody really believes this will be my year?' But then after clicking on it I realized what it really was. Have to say it took the wind out of my sails quite a bit," McCoy told reporters following an O.T.A. meeting. "I shouldn't have been too surprised. I mean, does anybody still believe in me? I'm actually not even sure if my parents still know I play professional football at this point."
Among the other predictions in the facetious article included the headlines were "Tebow unanimous M.V.P" "Andy Reid turns Chiefs defense into powerhouse" and "Belichick discovers love."
