A funny thing happened on the way to Miami. Peyton Manning, released by the Indianapolis Colts, didn't show up.
Manning was supposed to be in Miami early this week but has yet to show and is in Nashville, Tennessee.
So what's up? Has Manning planned to sign with the Titans all along?
It makes sense. Manning played at the University of Tennessee for four years and is a very popular player there, even when he was with the Colts.
Bud Adams, owner of the Titans, stated Sunday that he would do "what it takes" to sign Manning.
Besides being popular with the Tennessee fans, Manning knows the Titans very well. He has played against them many times and they are in the same division as the Indianapolis Colts.
Also, Titans coach Mike Munchak once played football with Peyton Manning's father Archie when he played for the old Houston Oilers, the team that moved to Nashville from Houston.
I plan to make Peyton Manning go from being "a pain in the neck" to "a pain in the ass" for the Indianapolis Colts", laughed Munchak.
