Liverpool manager Kenny MacGlish today told reporters that the Anfield Cat was not for sale despite big bids from Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea.
The cat made a cameo appearance at Anfield last night in the televised match between Liverpool and Tottenham which ended goalless.
"Of course the window shut last week, so the moggy is going nowhere" said Kenny. "But the chairman's phone has been ringing non-stop this morning. AVB has been on to me personally to offer us Fernando Torres and another 30 million in cash. Man City will no doubt improve that with a cheeky offer of Tevez on loan and cash".
A Liverpool spokesman added "Paris Saint Germain have offered a significant amount of euros but somebody stole the office calculator and we haven't been able to work out the exchange rate yet. In the meantime we're feeding him up and preparing for the game at Old Trafford on Saturday - he's certainly a better bet than Andy Carrol".
