Craig Brown, the only football manager in the UK older than Sir Alex Ferguson says his old friend is too old to retire.
As Fergie entered his 71st year on News Year Eve with a shock home defeat to bottom of the table Blackburn Rovers, his old sassanach pal jumped up from a park bench in Aberdeen and shouted his thoughts to a passing man carrying a crate of irn bru and walking his dog.
"If he had retired ten years ago he could have got inot his golf or horses, and he can't potter around the house all day getting in the way of his wife Kathy, because SHE is the boss at home, let me tell you."
Brown continued "In fact his wife Kathy would have picked a better team against Blackburn, I can tell ya. Fergs had obviously had too much scotch malt on Friday night, any more results like that he won't have the chance to retire - he'll be given half an hour to clean his desk out and he'll be like me - walking round the park at three o'clock in the afternoon drinking Super Tennants straight from the can"
