When iPad users learned they'd be getting a free copy on the iPad of the Winnie the Pooh book by AA Milne, they were very excited. Their response was "Aw . . . isn't that cute?" But that's not the response of the Pooh.
Spoof reporter Gail Farrelly nailed an exclusive interview with Winnie and got the words straight from the bear's mouth: "I'm exhausted. I'm 84 years old, for Pete's sake. Yep, that's right. The book about me was first published in 1926. But I've never worked this hard before. There's people 'reading' me 24/7. What a grind! Other bears my age are enjoying retirement and romping around in the woods, but I'm stuck working. It's an outrage!"
According to Farrelly, Winnie had other complaints as well: No overtime, no free lunch, and it's not even fun work any more. Winnie says that iPad users are nerdy and have no imagination whatsoever.
"Everybody, not just kids, now wants a piece of the Pooh," complains Winnie. Does he have a message for Steve Jobs? "You betcha," he said with a smirk. "Poo on you! And that's poo without the 'h,' Stevie boy."
