NYC - A shipment of twelve hundred new Apple iPads fell from a delivery van during rush hour this morning and landed in the middle of West 42nd street near Times Square
Packaged for protection the shrink-wrapped shipment bounced once and landed between a watch vendor and a T-shirt stand.
The driver of the delivery van had slammed into the car behind him as he accelerated forgetting he was in reverse gear. Police were on site immediately issuing citations, calming the screaming drivers, and controlling traffic. Very few people noticed the pallet of goods leaning on the curb.
Never failing to let a business opportunity pass the watch and t-shirt vendor forgot their acrimonious relationship and initiated a whirlwind product promotion. Within minutes they had created a convincing Apple iPad sign and stand using watch and t-shirt tables and displays.
Their ruse, a special Apple product announcement, sold iPads for $25 each to cover miscellaneous expenses.
Appreciative New Yorkers gobbled up the twelve hundred iPads by mid morning and the watch and t-shirt stands returned before lunch.
