Martian North Pole (IPP) - Desperation and depression turned into jubilation this afternoon when the Mars lander named Phoenix began sending photos of the surface of Mars after a few hours of silence and darkness.
Dr. Povenmire Finootch of the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California told reporters that Haitian astronauts had repaired the Mars lander by simply reconnecting a wiring harness that had become loose after being blown out of position by Martian winds.
The Haitian astronauts could clearly be seen waving and smiling for the cameras before getting inside a two door Honda civic and driving slowly off into the Martian horizon.
The international space community hopes to land a man on Mars by the year 2033. The Haitian government launched their Mars expedition in 2007 despite economic and political problems that have plagued the island nation for decades.
