CCN - Space - Today, Scientists, using the Hubble Telescope, thought that they had discovered an Earth-like planet only 50 light years away. They immediately started doing calculation on how long it would take a flight to get from Earth to the new planet.
As they were performing their calculations, a Bush S.S. agent whispered into the lead scientist ear. They immediately began scrambling and re-calibrating their equipment.
When TheSpoof.com writer, CalJennings, asked what the S.S. agent had whispered, the lead Scientist said, "Our Fearless Dictat... uh... President was in here spying on his fiance', Tony Blair and had the telescope pointed toward Earth. The planet we thought we discovered actually WAS Earth. President Bush was playing with the knobs and buttons again and caused us to think the planet was 50 light years away. Now we have to re-calibrate all of our instruments."
The scientists ware disheartened that their discovery had been a false alarm.
