The Monongahela River was named after a very sexy Shawnee princess.

HILLBILLY HILL, West Virginia - (Satire News) - River experts are puzzled as to the reason why West Virginia's Monongahela River has turned royal blue.

Several residents have said that they were afraid to put their fishing boats in the water for fear that the blue water could have a corrosive effect on the boats.

Wendell S. Waver, who is the official West Virginia director of The River Water Coalition Board (RWCB). informed all West Virginians that there is nothing to worry about regarding the river water turning blue.

He noted that, if however, the water had turned magenta, then that could be another matter all-together.

In the meantime, the Governor of West Virginia Jim Justice, has asked that all West Virginians, not fret about the color of the river, because no West Virginian needs the added stress.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
