New philosophical thinking is on the rise in Great Britain. Not only in academic circles, but more widely. Proponents of this trend are called Unmandatorians.
In fact, the way of thinking mentioned in the title is of course not new by any means, says Susan Thinkenton. She has lectured on the subject “Guidelines to be Unmandatory”.
According to Thinkenton, it is not so easy to comprehent that doing something we think mandatory, does not really be mandatory at all. So, she likes to broaden people's minds to understand when mandatory is really mandatory and when it is not.
