According to the latest news regarding job opportunities:
"Demand for Qualified Policing Professionals
According to Job Futures Canada the retirement rate among Policing Careers is higher than average. That means great opportunities for talented new recruits! There is currently a 0% unemployment rate for qualified Police Professionals in this country. As a trained Police Officer you'll be able to focus on the important things like community service and crime prevention, without worrying about your own job security. "
Canadians, before you go rushing out to sign up for Police College, think:
Q: WHY is the retirement rate among Policing Careers higher than average at present?
A: Because they don't want to get shot in the line of duty.
Q. WILL your job, on a daily basis, focus
on important things like community service and crime prevention?
A. NO The recruiters are lulling you into a false sense of security. Why the hell do you think so many are retiring?
This does not take a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist to figure out.
The last part about Job Security is, obviously, true. Who the hell wants to be, shot at, spat upon, have bricks thrown at them, die in the line of duty?
It's just NOT worth it. According to Jobs Futures Canada, you have to be 'talented'. By 'talented' they really mean "have an IQ below 35".
