As quick as it began, it's all over! - That was the message this lunchtime, as Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour sensationally sacked the former Britain's Got Talent loser Susan Boyle just days after the pair announced their extraordinary collaboration.
The duo were to commence a Europe-wide tour taking in Poland, Albania, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Serbia, before the grand finale in Outer Mongolia, which was expected to be the first time anyone in that country had ever stopped slavering long enough to actually go and see a concert.
It's thought that, on reflection, Gilmour decided that Boyle would be unsuitable to perform Floyd's legendary catalogue, and the Scottish lass is now expected to join the brilliant Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band, which is much more her style, if you don't mind me saying so.
"Collaboration?" said Gilmour today, "It would have been an aberration!"
