Guitar legend David Gilmour has announced that he is teaming up with Susan Boyle to form a brand new Pink Floyd tribute band.
David said "this is not a new Pink Floyd, there will be no new songs, and we are just going to do the old stuff. Susan is going to take over the role that Roger Waters used to play. She can't actually play bass guitar but then again neither could Roger!"
"With the death of my good friend Richard Wright who played the keyboards, I just wanted to assemble the very best talent and play the old tunes. I asked Florian Schnideer (who recently quit Kraftwerk) if he might be interested in joining but he has not replied to my email yet."
Phoenix Joe is breathless with anticipation - the idea of Susan Boyle with a Fender Precision bass around her neck belting out classics like Money, One of These days or The great Gig in the Sky is indeed appealing.
When asked if Simon Cowell would be involved in the project, David looked puzzeled and said "Who the fuck is Simon Cowell?"
