We can exclusively reveal today, right here, that the sexy Shakira, contrary to what her latest song title may say, is NOT a Gypsy.
She is, in fact, Colombian.
The 33 year old diva was actually born and bred in the home of drug cartels, coca plantations, gang warfare and rampant killing. Indeed, one street in the Colombian capital, Bogota, has for years now been known as Bullet Street, because of the, erm...bullets that fly about with quite alarming regularity.
And where they shoot their footballers stone dead if they play badly for the national team.
Fortunately for us, Shakira, the non-gypsy, no longer has to risk her outrageously sexy neck by running the gauntlet of violence in her home country. Which leaves her free to record songs and make music videos that leave old geezers all over the world breathless and panting as their imaginations run riot.
Not, we hasten to add, that there aren't Gypsies who could have an equally staggering effect on the male of the species - it's just that the ones we see begging on the London Underground and in its environs don't quite cut the same mustard quite so sharply.
Anyway, like we said - she's not really a gypsy.
