An old photograph a family member recently discovered of their day at the beach twenty years ago, shows a 13-year-old bikini-clad Cheryl Cole standing in front of a giant cockroach. The photograph had been stuck behind another one from the set and no one had noticed it before.
The photograph, without an explanation, has been auctioned off on eBay for $10,000 and no one knows the real name of the person who bought it.
Upon hearing the rumor, one of our reporters went to see some distant relatives of Cheryl's who said that they had seen the photograph.
Second Cousin Hanna Lacefield told UP2 reporter Dan Hilliard that no one remembers who took the photograph because there "must have been over 100 of us there that day, on the beach for a family reunion."
But didn't anybody SEE that big cockroach?
Oh, Linda Provo says she remembers the thing going out to sea but she's just trying to get her picture in the newspaper, especially if the article connects her up to Cheryl. I DO still have that old camera so I thought I'd save it to show you that's it's just a regular old camera of its day."
It did look like it had been stored in a trunk or cedar chest for a long time and as Cousin Hanna handed it to me, the petrified bodies of several cockroaches fell out.
