"I hope you die, so I can be the last Golden Girl!" That was Betty White's "get well" card to fellow former Golden Girls cast member Rue McClanahan, who is recovering from a stroke.
"Betty's full of shit", laughed McClanahan. "She and I both sent Bea (Arthur) one before she passed away, telling her it was time to have her put down."
Betty White said she remembered nothing about Bea Arthur or that she had died. Just a big mouth that went on and on and on.
"You'd think she would have sent me a card before she died. That was just the kind of smartass person she was. To go off and die, just to spite me."
After Estelle Getty died, the three got together and had a party, Rue McClanahan stated. "We sent her ass on her way and got wasted. At least we had fun with the old bag. She should have died years ago. Some people just like to flaunt themselves."
Back to White. "You mean she's had a stroke and she didn't have the common courtesy to die from it?"
"I'm writing her another letter. Maybe tell her that I'm in my last throes. Maybe that way she'll think she won and go ahead and die, for pete's sake!"
