Timmy Gerris of Coos Bay, Oregon got a special surprize when Hollywood superstar Morgan Freeman showed up to narrate the young boy's 6th birthday party.

"Mr. Freeman is my super favorite actor! He did a great job in "The Shawshank Redemption," and my birthday party was every bit as well narrated." said Timmy after the celebration.

Timmy's father, Dave, explained that they had heard that the Hollywood star might be available for private engagements and "We always liked his soothing voice and mature demeanor. We thought, hey, lets get him to narrate the party. I borrowed a PA amp from the local church and Mr. Freeman had no problems using it to amplify his narration. He even joined in on the 'duck, duck, goose' game a bit. What a sport."

Mr. Freeman described the birthday boy as "tousled and hopeful, holding onto a real shine from the past year" and did a great job with the whole day, especially the "blowing out the candles" portion. "My, my" he intoned, "it seems nobody minds blowing out those candles, no matter how many there are."

"Young boys, they have a way about them." said Mr. Freeman. "They hold onto those dreams, and every year, like every day, is an adventure. Winning or losing isn't a big part of the process, they just live. Seeing them, I feel I lose a little part of myself, and gain a bigger part back."

Timmy said that next year he wants Johnny Depp to give him a haircut.
