(Fort Benning, GA) The School of the Americas - the US Army school which trains Latin American Armies to put down unrest in their countries through excessive violence and even murder - has asked Government authorities for copies of the photos and tape of the torture in the Abu Ghraib prison as well as the tape of the beheading of Nicholas Berg.
Major General Claude L. Sneed, director of the School of the Americas noted in his request that "techniques of humiliation and torture advance rapidly and the US, due to an unfortunately torture reluctant society, continues to fall further and further behind in the quest for successful interrogation techniques."
General Sneed has complained in the past that the United States Army only learned how to electrify gonads from instructional videos produced in Romania rather than via experimentation. "The most powerful country in the world must have the most advanced techniques, even, though, of course, we would never use them.
