Hollywood heart throb George Clooney has been in trouble with authorities in Italy after a fracas with his neighbour at a home he keeps on the shores of Lake Como.
Clooney, star of Oceans Eleven, Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen, was having a quiet night in with a 'friend', when he heard loud music and laughter from the villa next door.
When he went around to see what all the fuss was about, he discovered that the neighbour, Emilio Mussolini, was having a party and had not invited Clooney, whereupon the star of ER became extremely upset.
Mr Clooney, according to guests at the party, swore wildly and indiscriminately, and forced his way into the party saying:
"The audacity? Do you dipshits know who I am?"
The police were called and placed Clooney, the star of Syriana, under arrest, and took him to a police station where he was held overnight.
Mr Clooney, the star of The Good German, had been taking some time off before considering more flimsy plots for Ocean's Fourteen, and wondering what to do after he has heroically and single-handedly saved Darfur.
Police say that no one was hurt, and Mr Clooney, star of Three Kings, The Perfect Storm and O Brother Where Art Thou? had been released from custody after handing over a hefty bribe.
Clooney's ex-wife Talia Balsam, daughter of the haircare magnate Alberto Balsam, looked disgusted as she said:
"What a drunken bum."
