Shrek, the animated film star voiced by Michael Myers, admitted that he is gay in an interview with People Magazine on this week's newstands.
Gossip columnists had been suggesting Shrek had a limp wrist since last summer when paparazzi photographer Peter Parker caught him frolicking in the surf with Mr. Incredible. At the time his publicist insisted that Shrek was merely attending a family event of the Incredibles, and the other members of the family were actually invisible or underwater when the photos was taken.
In this week's interview, Shrek reveals that the family was not there, and Parker (who is also an animated character and who doubles as Spiderman) was part of the threesome.
Shrek insisted that he is not merely gay, however, and that he enjoys the company of women as well. He actually met Mr. Incredible through that superhero's wife, Elastigirl, at a swingers' party. He emphatically denied any relationship with the couple's now-teenage son Dash, but did confess an attraction to their daughter Violet, who is in her early 20s. "The force fields ... the invisibility thing ... come on, how can you not want that," said the robust hero.
