Fans of the HBO fantasy drama series, 'Game Of Thrones', are said to be "up in arms" over what is being called 'a major disappointment' at events in the eighth and final series of the show, with some calling for a radical rewrite of the scripts.
'Game Of Thrones' has been the biggest attraction on TV for several years, but this latest series has relied upon the writing of David Benioff and DB Weiss, due to the fact that the book by George RR Martin that the series is based upon, is as yet unfinished. Benioff and Weiss have, therefore, had to rely on their own writing skills, and have been found severely wanting.
Many critics have called for a recall of Ned Stark, executed on the orders of Joffrey Lannister at the end of series one, but Ned is currently busy on yet another series of 'Sharpe', and won't be free until the end of the autumn, when the weather in Winterfell will already have closed in.
Even Arya Stark, Lord Stark's daughter, has called for her dad to be brought back into the saga. She said:
"Yes, I realize that I'm just a character in a fantasy TV series, but I want my father back! Is that so difficult for people to understand?"
