Los Angeles - It has been announced that Prince and Bono will team up to record a follow-up to the 1980's anthem "We Are the World" to raise public awareness about the latest immigration crisis along our southern border.

Many other artists were invited to join in the recording but they were all too self-involved to participate in the effort.

Miley Cyrus was too busy preparing her next unfiltered sex remarks for the audience at her next concert. Lady Gaga had locked herself in a costume changing room and was waiting for a locksmith to show up.

Jay-Z had 99 problems and didn't need another one. Beyonce said she would participate but only if she could lip-sync, and Bjork was off swan hunting for her next outfit.

Pharrell Williams was too happy to sing a somber song right now and was busy counting his money. The boys of One Direction have scheduled a group surgery to have their skinny jeans removed on the same day and will need recovery time from that ordeal.

We obtained a copy of the updated chorus that everybody knows and here it is:

We are the third world, we are the children
We are the ones who spread disease
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll ruin your country
Just Obama and me

The song is no doubt catchy and will be a hit, at least in Latin America. Bono and Prince hope to raise hundreds of dollars for the illegal immigrants which will help at least a few people.

The song should be hitting the airwaves in a few weeks and, like the original, will be repeated every forty-five minutes on FM stations across the country.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
