Phil Collins Admits Genesis "Not the First Rock Band Created"

Funny story written by E. Williams

London - Recording superstar and former front man for the band known as Genesis, Phil Collins, admitted this week that the band was not the first rock band created, despite their name correlating with the name of the first book in the Bible.

Responding to tons of fan mail the group still receives, Collins says there were actually other rock bands in existence before the group came along around 1970. The band wanted to also quell long-standing rumors that the band was formed in six days and the members rested on the seventh day.

"I wish I could say it was true," Collins said. "The band was not the first and certainly wasn't formed that quickly. We rotated numerous personnel, including Peter Gabriel, before the band most people know as Genesis came into being."

"It would've been cool if God had created us first but He knows better than we do. He created the world, we just try to rock it. You would think fans would know this already but it's a load of codswallop. We get mail from a lot of dumbasses around the world."

"Sussudio was my creation. I'll take credit for that contribution to mankind. And I'll thank our fans for the contribution they made to my bank account based on that word!" Phil joked.

Collins had to cut our interview short when a servant dropped off a fresh bag of royalty checks that needed his signature.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
