CANCUN, Mexico - Soccer star Javier Hernández Balcázar, AKA Chicharito flew down to Cancun for a few days.
When he arrived he was immediately asked where his British girlfriend Cheryl Cole was. He replied that she was in Manhattan filming a pantyhose commercial.
He then added that he has always enjoyed visiting the Cancun - Cozumel area since he is a great fan of the ancient Mayan civilization who once occupied the Yucatan Peninsula.
Chicharito was asked if he and Chezza had set a wedding date. He grinned and said that he is not quite at that stage yet.
He expressed the fact that he is still having a great time doing the non-matrimonial hokey pokey and if wedding bells are in their future then it will happen in good time.
He was asked about the fact that he and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton had been spotted having a cozy dinner in Oaxaca a few nights before.
The soccer star smiled and said that he is good friends with Kate and they spent the evening talking about her boyfriend Dancing With The Star's Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Chicharito received a call on his cell phone and it was his sweetheart Cheryl calling from Manhattan. He excused himself and went off to talk to her in private.
SIDENOTE: Cheryl recently told fellow Englishman Piers Morgan that Chicharito is the true love of her life and one day she will become Cheryl Cole Hernández Balcázar.
