Sources have revealed that Blur have chosen to revamp the 1981 comedy hit 'Shaddap You Face' by Joe Dolce for the official theme of the London 2012 Olympics.

Damon Allbran, a long time devotee of Dolce, is known to have wanted to cover the sidesplitting track for a number of years, but has been waiting until 'the time is right'.

Said Allbran "We wanted a song with an international flavour, and this song has not had the recognition it deserves. When we were told that we had been chosen as the the official pop combo to represent the games, there was only one song ever in the running."

Rumours that Wagner, the legendary vocalist of of the X-Factor is to duet with Blur have yet to be confirmed, but Susan Boyle has confirmed that she will provide the 'Heys' at the end of each line.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
