TV expert on all things human, Alice Roberts, is back on UK screens tonight in a new series, causing excitement among her thousands of fans nationwide.
Dr Roberts launches a three-part documentary series Origins Of Us on BBC2 in which she explores human evolution.
The fact that she is examining the human story from the get-go has created a special frisson in her fans.
As has been reported ad nauseum in these columns (not so much lately, ed) ever since she appeared in a programme about wild swimming her fans have been hoping to see her au naturel. So far they have been disappointed.
"It has been a long wait," said fan club chairman Bernard Frot, in a triumph of hope over experience. "We've been living on repeats of Coast for months.
"It's a bit odd willing her to get 'em off in a show you've already seen, but you have to live in hope, don't you?
"Anyway, today she goes back to the dawn of the human form - we had no clothes then so for the sake of authenticity, she surely has to this time.
"Doesn't she...?"
