Let's get serious.

Fit-as-a-butcher's-dog TV cook Lorraine Pascale has been urged to "beef it up" on her new show.

The former model, who was introduced to TV audiences last year with a series about baking, now has Home Cooking Made Simple airing on BBC.

But the new series has attracted criticism from a high-profile food critic.

Giles Gill, restaurant critic for EIF News & Features, reckons we've had our fill of 'cooking made easy' programmes and are ready for more complex stuff.

"Yeah, that Lorraine Pascale needs to beef it up a bit. Everyone's done the making it easy thing - from Delia to Nigella, the fat motorcyle guys, Jamie and old whiney himself, Stein.

"No. It's time someone showed us some real showstoppers - get on that screen and create something we could never hope to do at home. You know, get all French and stuff and look smug at the camera, saying, 'Go on, plebs, just try it.'

"Lorraine is well fit, mind."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
