Arizona Governor Jan Brewer expressed dismay at the way she says California "is always mooching stuff off other states in the area." This came just a few days after Arnold Schwarzenegger showed up at the governors mansion in Phoenix and asked if he could borrow the Department of Transportation for "just a few days."
Brewer said that she knows that California is having economic problems, but her state "just can't spare the resources."
Brewer says it started when a nuclear plant near the border shared by the two states was missing a nuclear reactor. She immediately got a call from Governor Schwarzenegger apologizing and saying he would definitely "bring it back in time for the weekend." He did return it, but it was "nearly out of fuel" said Brewer and "had some sticky stuff on the outside that I don't know what it was." Brewer said she also loaned California a couple of motor vehicle bureau locations that she still hasn't gotten back.
Governor Schwarzenegger apologized for the borrowing and said that once his state "get the checks that he is expecting" the problem will be eliminated. He said he hoped to get them by "early next week" and added "that darn mailman, I'm going to have a talk with him."
Nevada's Governor said that the California comptroller showed up one Saturday afternoon, but added "I knew what he wanted and I just made believe I wasn't home."
