Paris - (Formidable Mess): The French banking scandal involving a $7 billion betting fiasco at SocGen Bank has been linked by police to an audacious $25 billion heist conducted by Brunei's Prince Jefri Archer last year.
Prince Jefri siphoned off a multi-billion dollar fortune from the Brunei Investment Authority before being nabbed by cops for running the tiny sultanate's mobster cartels.
And now the SocGen rogue trader, Jerome Kerviel, identified earlier as Tom Cruise's natural son has been identified as in cahoots with Prince Jefri in a five year scam whose wheels were oiled by Scientology bankers in Bogota, Colombia.
"This heist could see the collapse of the French bank," Interpol sources said today.
"It's probably connected to the Northern Crock Bank fiasco in what could well turn out to be a bigger scam than the BCCI £13 billion bankruptcy, the Barings £800 million insolvency and all the other late 20th century banking heists rolled into one."
