JACKSON, Mississippi - The state of Mississippi is proud to disclose that it has just passed a vote in the Mississippi State Senate making The McDonald's Big Mac the official state food.
Senator Roy LeRoy Witchboro [R-Pascagoula] commented that the vote was close, but the Mickey D supporters won with a vote of 29-23.
Senator Witchboro stated that the Big Mac Bill will go into effect at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2014.
The McDonald's Corporation is reportedly very thrilled and honored that the good people of Mississippi have decided to honor their restaurant chain by naming their Big Mac as the state food.
McDonald's Spokeswoman, Nancy Zabeletta personally flew down to Jackson and informed the members of the Mississippi Senate that to show their appreciation McDonald's has agreed to provide coupons for a free Big Mac to every man, woman, and child who resides in the great state of Mississippi.
SIDENOTE: The McDonald's Corporation will also be donating a 10-foot tall statue of Ronald McDonald eating a Big Mac. The statue will be placed at the entrance to the Mississippi Senate Building.
