I'm having trouble with all this Christian stuff. Some old lady came up to me and told me 'Jesus said what you do to the least of people you do unto me. How do you square that with penalising the mentally ill and disabled?'

So I told her that our policy was to help unfortunate people back to work. 'Bit difficult if they die because they are starving' she replied.

With an election coming up and remembering Gordon Brown's bigot I soothed the old lady. 'We all have to meet the Lord one day, my dear.'
