Research has established a definite link between excessive alcohol consumption and stupid behaviour.
A Europe-wide survey in the British Medical Journal found that increased drinking led to 3 out of 10 men and 2 out of 10 women posing with funny headgear they wouldn't "normally be seen dead wearing", while another 4 in 10 males and 5 in 10 females would "actively encourage being photographed with a ridiculous expression on their face".
An even more disturbing part of the survey revealed that just a couple of extra pints of beer or 1.5 extra glasses of wine would lead to more than 63% of drinkers waking up in the morning next to a person they "wouldn't otherwise have given the time of day " and almost 47% of the same group ended up in a physical relationship with an individual "with whom they had absolutely nothing in common" and whose relationship "was thus doomed to failure virtually from day one".
