In the midst of Japan's worst tragedy of modern times, the oil industry will release a statement and several ad spots in an attempt to throw the focus of oils spills off, hoping to relieve tensions amid higher gas prices.
The ad campaign, "At least we aren't' Fukushima Dai-ichi" will air in the upcoming weeks, along with a healthy gas price hike. It features prominent executives driving Hummers and explaining all the problems of nuclear fuel, then the each of the execs are seen at the fuel pumps, pouring all of your hard earned cash into their tanks.
No one explained why there will be a gas price hike.
Of course, this is coming fast on the heels of the Coal industries campaign slogan, "Clean Coal never destroyed Thousands of miles of coastline, oceanic life, or the fishing industry, nor have we pumped radioactive clouds in the atmosphere that circle the globe and affect other countries". Not to mention the Natural Gas Industries Slogan, "Fracking hasn't technically killed anyone yet".
Nobody as of yet has heard from the Solar, Wind, and Geothermal industry with their slogan, "Zero detriment to environment and still not counting".
