Israel's top Army General announced that the military would be holding a Funny Photos Contest just for Palestinians. Entrants will submit outrageous pictures of themselves, which will be judged by a senior military panel. The winner will get a cruise to Gaza complete with gas mask and bullet proof vest. Runners up will receive bus fares to the Turkish Embassy.
A spokeswoman for the Army said: "This is a great idea and it has been welcomed by our Palestinian friends, who have a great sense of humour. We've had hundreds of entries already and it will be difficult to pick the winners."
Existing entries are thought to include a photo of a wacky student hanging upside down from a rope in a police cell as well as several pictures of men pretending to be dogs and wearing collars.
"We could barely contain our excitement at these entries", said the spokeswoman. "My favourite is the zany Palestinian swallowing a teargas canister."
