LOS ANGELES - Word has it that Angelina Jolie wanted to star opposite Daniel Craig in the English-language remake of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". However producers nixed the idea, opting for an unknown name to take on the role of the tormented genius Lisbeth Salander.
Not to be outdone Ms. Jolie who has trouble with her real self and prefers to identify herself by the roles she plays, has decided to go it alone.
Sources involved with the actress told entertainment reporters that Ms. Jolie will be producing, directing, financing, and starring in her own version of the film to be titled: "Dragon With the Girl Tattoo".
Ms. Jolie will play the role of reptilian Lala Salamander - a much tattooed, deeply troubled, self-mutilated, depressed daughter caught up in a complex relationship with her dragon-father. There was no word on who would be cast as her father and those involved in the production vehemently denied that Jon Voigt would play himself.
An unnamed source said: "It's a perfect role for her. Basically it's her life story. She is such a professional artist - she has already begun starving and cutting herself in preparation for this role".
