Southern U.S.- A recent statement from a top Killer bee queen says its the African Killer bees who have been victimized.
She claims they were brought across the oceans against their will and forced to make honey. She also alleged that they were mistreated, humiliated and forced to live in substandard hives.
All Africanized Killer bees alive today in this country are descendants of those bees. The anger and quick tempered reactions associated with this race of bees is a result of the constant reminders of the past still seen and felt today she says..
She also stated that they want to be recognized as members of the western world and should be referred to as African-American bees. She said that the term "killer" has been wrongfully applied to the victimized species.
"The living conditions continue after hundreds of years to be appalling for our brothers and sisters of the hive"she said. "While the other bees, who they refer to as the "White" bees because of the color of their multistory residences, live in luxury with lavish homes plus servants who give them healthcare, provide security and pollen fit for royalty.
A "white" bee spokesman who was asked to comment on the queens allegations stated, "The facts are the Africanized Killer bees were bred to be superior fliers in order to produce more product in a shorter period of time. But they have reverted back to their pre-American living habits. Living in close proximity to other hives while expecting handouts leads to violence that quite literally bleeds over to other species." He continued, "You can lead a bee to pollen, but you can't make them pollinate".
It seems that past mistakes of a particular hive may not be looked upon now by some as hivilized, but the facts are that hives go through changes. Its just sad to see ,as in the case of the Africanized Killer bees, that some species cannot move forward and work for the greater good of the hive. They just sit back on their thorax and wait for someone to step on their honey comb so they use their big stingers to justify their own bitter lives.
Even with a Killer bee as leader of the greatest hive in the world, they continue sliding backward to a time they want others to forget. Forget as soon as all the checks are written that is.
