In a stunning revelation, it recently was discovered that writing for online satirical rag, TheSpoof.com, has become the number one non-compensated part-time job for thousands of under-talanted, mentally-disturbed and/or otherwise unemployable writers in both the US and UK.
It was found that thousands of contributors to TheSpoof.com spend hours on-end at their full-time, paying jobs, concocting fakakta stories for the site.
"Why, we're just shocked," said publisher William Randolph Spoof III. "We figured the writing was going on only in penal and mental institutions and sanitoria, and then only on their own time. We had no idea of the depth, breadth or width of this problem."
On a related note, Microsoft today announced the roll-out of its new "Spoof Buster" internet tracking software for employers. Brisk sales are projected.
