Mark Sanford inveterate hiker and philanderer and governor of South Carolina broke a world straying record by disappearing on the Appalachian trail and reappearing in Argentina. Sanford told the Pampas Periodical that he had no idea how he ended up on the Pampas with a pretty little gaucha on his lap when all he set out to do was explore some of the Appalachian Mountain country and maybe have a close encounter or two with some back woodsy women.
Sanford graciously accepted his award for intercontinental intercourse and warned other hikers of the Appalachian trail to be careful to leave their hiking plans with their wives and avoid the odd side tracks that apparently can get you into bed in Argentina.
