Somali student, Abu Abdab, has won the 2009 World Waterboarding Championships in the face of tough opposition from around the world.
Abu, who is better known for performing with his brothers as The Screaming Abdabs, impressed the judges with his five hour silent routine. He said it was torture at first but his training paid off. "It sort of washed over me." he confided, " I did some altitude training in Afganistan so I was definitely well prepared. When that first wave hit, wow! What can I say, .man. I was like, speechless."
British resident, Aasif Iwood, formerly of Pakistan, finished a creditable 25th in what was his first serious waterboarding experience. He was clearly disappointed when we spoke to him and all he'd say was, "I choked."
