It emerged today after live satellite pictures showed a shattered Ranulph Fiennes claim 'The Oldest British Person to scale Mount Everest', was awash with cheat allegations. If rumours are proven to be true, Ranulph Fiennes used a 'Stoner Stair lift' to aid his feat.
A number of anonymous people have alleged that since the beginning of May. A special team of Sherpas have been busily constructing a special 'Stoner Stair lift' from roughly 26,000ft at base camp four right up to the top.
If this allegation is true, it basically means Mr Fiennes has only climbed 26,000ft and took a leisurely ride up the remaining 3000ft to the summit on a 'Stoner Stair lift'
Nobody as of now has commented officially regarding the allegations concerning Mr Fiennes, but Rocky Boulder editor of Climber Magazine said via telephone, 'Mr Fiennes is a fine old gentleman and a living legend. If he says he's conquered Mount Everest at the age of 65 we have to take him at his word. I suspect it's just a cheap publicity stunt from a failing stair lift company trading in 'Stoner Stair lifts'.
More to follow on whether this is a publicity stunt or a whether a pensioner has had a sneaky leg up on a 'Stoner Stair lift'
