The suspected military chief of the Basque separatist group, Eta, has been arrested in southern France, the French interior minister has announced.
Carina Eta, who is also an amateur satirist on satirical news website TheSpoof.com, was taken into custody yesterday when police raided her holiday home in the Pyrenees.
Eta has been blamed for the demise of several notable celebrities through her cutting pieces of journalism, and her incisive reporting of 'semi-truths'. Notable amongst these, were the Wombles, who subsequently retired from public life after she penned a scathing and damning attack on their recycling habits.
Eta has been quiet of late, having become "bored" and "disillusioned" with the site, and having had a lot of ironing to do. Her son is also at the 'difficult stage', and is thought to have recently acquired a girlfriend, which has made him 'moody'.
There is a certain irony in the fact that Eta was arrested in the Pyrenees, because it is a well-known fact that she, herself, has Dodgy Knees.
It's possible that I may have this person mixed-up with Garikoitz Aspiazu Rubina, alias "Txeroki", who is also known to be a member of Eta, but the story wouldn't have worked if I'd used him as its focus.
Not that it does anyway, come to think of it.
