"Boy" Lies Near Death

AFRICA - After learning that scientists are now cloning monkeys to create new stem cell lines for humans, Tarzan decided this was the best way to save his son, "Boy."

The diminutive Boy, recently attacked by a giant jungle spider*, now lies near death on the floor of Tarzan's tree-house.

Jane, the daughter of famed scientist, Professor Porter, worked with Tarzan to set up a tree-top laboratory using bamboo shoots for test tubes, which Tarzan's jungle pals (the giraffes, the wart hogs and the lemurs) gathered for them.

Cheeta, Tarzan's the long-time ape companion, gladly agreed to donate some of his skin cells to the effort.

By combining Jane's scientific knowledge with Tarzan's jungle instincts, the pair had soon grown a healthy supply of embryonic stem cells.

Whether or not they will cure Boy's skyrocketing fever is still not known.

*As told in the soon to be published "Tarzan vs. The Giant Spider"
