City of Industry, California (Salad Bar Monthly) - The 'Los Angeles Salad Company' has been forced to recall a large quantity of its "Genuine Sweet Baby Carrots" due to contamination with the bacteria Shigella.
Some symptoms of Shigella infection may include diarrhea, fever, nausea and vomiting. Unfortunately these can also be the effects after a night of heavy drinking.
"Genuine Sweet Baby Carrots (with Shigella)" may still be found in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Washington, and throughout Canada. If any carrots are encountered, US Food and Drug Administration officials advise people to slowly move away without panicking. Then inform their local television station.
To date only a handful of Canadians have become ill. Lead Canuck, Stephen Harper, says that he will not let this spoil the cozy trade relationship that currently exists between Canada and the US. (Afterall, what are a few sick Canadians between friends?)
