HIGH EARTH ORBIT (AP Newsliar) - Responding to the latest barb in the war of words between the Earth and its Moon, the Moon today fired back: "You're not the boss of me."
Two weeks ago, the Earth had criticized the Moon for its gradual withdrawal to a higher orbit.
"He's been pulling away little by little for a few billion years now," said the Earth. "And after the planetary impact I suffered to give birth to the little ingrate, this is the thanks I get."
"He's so inconsiderate, he doesn't give any thought at all for how his actions affect others," Earth added. "Why, just a half a billion years ago, my day was twenty-two hours long. Thanks to the momentum exchange from the Moon's selfish withdrawal, it's now like twenty four hours and growing."
"From where I sit, Earth is the one orbiting me," the Moon had responded last week. "And not like I asked her to. She's always cramping my style. I need my space!"
"You get back here to 225,000 miles where you belong!" responded the Earth.
"Oh yeah? Well, you're not the boss of me," the Moon fired back today.
"I oughta smack his tidal-locked ass into the middle of next month," Earth was heard to mutter under her breath.
