NEW YORK CITY - Tennis great Maria Sharapova recently told Hercules Confetti with Sporting Chance Magazine that she really enjoyed traveling to Sochi, Russia and watching the XXII Olympic games.
She said that one day while sitting in the stands she was handed an envelope by a Russian KGB agent. When she opened the envelope she found a piece of paper with a phone number on it.
Maria said that it was the private cell phone number of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
She remarked that she could not believe that the leader of one of the greatest nations in the world would give her his personal phone number.
Sharapova is a native of Russia having been born in Nyagan, Siberia.
Confetti asked her if she planned on calling the Russian president. Maria smiled and said that she probably will although she is afraid that her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov may get jealous.
The American reporter assured her that there is no way in the world that Grigor will get jealous and cause any problem because he knows exactly what the KGB is and what those dudes are capable of.
A Friendly Reminder: March 13 is National Joy and Mirth Day except in Arizona where there is no joy and no mirth (not anymore anyway).
