HONG KONG - The republic of China, in its neverending quest to find ways to save money, has just hit upon an excellent idea.
They have decided that they will stop printing Chinese phone books in order to save billions of dollars a year.
A representative for the Chinese Department of the Interior stated that this move will save millions of trees annually.
This phone book proposal was first talked about seven years ago but since the owner of the company that manufactures the phone books was a high ranking government official, the idea was put on the back burner where it sat and sat.
A representative for the Chinese government remarked that the old phone books will be collected and sold to a recycling company in Hackensack, New Jersey, who will take the paper phone books and turn them into reusable plastic.
