The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) have called castration for sex-offenders degrading and the process should be forbidden.
Although castration happens rarely because most sex-offenders prefer to remain active after periods of incarceration and don't wish to spend the rest of their sick lives as practicing Eunuchs. The CPT find the whole practice "degrading" for the offenders, although it is done on a voluntary basis and even go as far as to say it is, "mentally and physically harming for the poor souls."
It has been proven that after castration only 3% revert to some form of sex offences compared to those released without castration the figures are much lower, obviously.
It is "wonderful" that such a humane European body support the sex-offender and give them a chance of repeating their disgusting behaviour once they have been released.
Maybe this body of "do-goody wise ladies and gentlemen" should interview the victims or parents of children who have been sexually abused before they introduce legislation banning the practice, they would be surprised at their reactions.
After all it is Germany and we all know what would have happened to such monsters a few decades ago!
