Here in New Hampsire Republicans are taking serious the old adage of "beat your way out of a wet paper bag". Promoters are billing this the Wet Paper Bag Debate, and will be watching closely to see if any of the candidates do indeed manage to beat themselves out of the 200 by 400 foot wet paper bag.
"This is definitely a first and we would like to thank our local paper recyclers. They helped us to build this huge bag. We also thank the local fire departments for coming out to hose the bag down and make it wet," said Robert Stanley the Mayor of Flat Gulch, New Hampshire.
In a poll taken at a local booky shop, nearly 75% said they thought none of the candidates would successfully beat their way out of the wet paper bag. Another 10% thought the candidates would beat themselves up and a whopping 15% thought the whole thing was pathetic. The debate is scheduled for this Monday Night on CNN.
Sarah Palin has so far said she is not a candidate, but would consider joining the debate if provided with a pair of scissors.
