Speaker Nancy Pelosi Explains the Details

WASHINGTON, DC - After months of wrangling whether to raise taxes on the rich or lower taxes on the middle-class, Congressional Democrat and Republican leaders have agreed to introduce legislation to raise taxes on the poor.

On today's "Meet The Press", Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader John Boehner announced the "Tax the Underclass to Reduce Debt" (TURD) act. Harry Reid was unable to attend because he was shoveling horse manure from his office, a chore that he does every Sunday.

"Why let these allegedly poor people off so easy? They are responsible for using more government resources than any other group, so they should begin paying for those resources." Boehner said. McConnell added "The wealthy are tired of paying the way for these freeloaders. The time has come to allow the poor to reap some of the benefits of being rich - paying taxes." When asked about the details of the bill, Pelosi responded "We have to pass the bill so we can find out what is in it."
